How this goes.
Five shapes of engagement. No packages, no tiers. What you get in each is written out below so you can decide before we talk.
The read
You want someone to look at the whole thing and tell you what’s actually broken.
Two weeks.
Week one we are in everything: finance, people, pipeline, vendors, tooling. We talk to the CEO, the person who runs the money, and whoever the engineers complain to. We read the board deck, the bank statements, and the Slack channels nobody has muted.
Week two you get a written read. What is working, what is broken, what is about to break, and what we would do first. And the first three fixes shipped while we are still in there, because a plan nobody has started is a document.
What you get
- A written read: what is working, what is broken, what is about to break, what to do first.
- A 90-day plan with names on it.
- The first three fixes, shipped.
Who it’s for
- A founder who has raised and can feel the company slipping out of their head.
- A board that wants an outside read before a bigger decision.
How it ends
- You know what you need.
- Sometimes that is us on a retainer.
- Sometimes it is a hire, and we will write the job description and sit on the panel.
- Sometimes it is nothing, and we will say so.
The operator
You want someone running it.
Two or three days a week. Three months minimum.
We own the operating cadence: the weekly leadership sync, the decision log, board and investor materials, hiring pipeline and onboarding, vendor spend, cash and runway, policy, comms. We are in your Slack, on your calendar, and in the threads that need an answer today.
What you get
- One person accountable for the company running.
- A system your team can see and run.
- A clean answer to “what did we decide and who owns it” every week.
Who it’s for
- Seed to Series A companies where the CEO is still doing ops out of their own head.
- Companies past the first hires where nobody owns the operating cadence.
More on this: fractional COO, fractional Chief of Staff.
How it ends
- The system runs without us. We build it that way on purpose.
- Retainers end. That is the point.
The seat
You need the seat filled now.
Full time, for a defined window. Ninety to 180 days.
Executive Director, COO, or Chief of Staff, while you find the person or while the thing winds down.
What you get
- The company keeps standing.
- Everyone who needs to know, knows.
- Your hire gets a clean desk.
Who it’s for
- A leadership transition, a wind-down, a spinout, a restructure.
- Anything where the seat cannot sit empty for the six months a search takes.
How it ends
- Your hire in the chair and us gone.
- Or the thing wound down properly.
The layer
You want the operating layer built with agents and run by people.
Scoped in the read. Built inside the operator. Handed over either way.
Agents that triage the inbox and draft the replies. A bot that watches vendor spend and flags the drift before month end. Workflows that turn every call into a summary, a decision, and a to-do with a name on it. A dashboard that shows what each one costs.
The rules do not move. Every agent has an owner and an off switch. Agents draft, people decide. Nothing goes in front of your customers without a human reading it first.
What you get
- The layer: agents, workflows, dashboards, house rules the agents read before they act.
- Days back on your calendar, and a record of what the agents did with them.
- A cost line you can read.
Who it’s for
- A team drowning in the work between the work: inbox, scheduling, follow-ups, reporting.
- A founder who has tried the tools and wants them to hold together.
More on this: AI operations, run by people.
How it ends
- Your team runs the layer. We leave the house rules and the off switch.
Special projects
You need a thing made, not a system run.
Scoped per project. Weeks, not quarters.
A brand identity. Positioning and a go-to-market plan. A site, a deck, a launch, a product design sprint, an internal tool. Five-plus years running operations inside a strategy and design agency, so we have shipped all of it and know what good looks like and what it costs. We scope it, we run it, and we bring in the designers and engineers we have hired before when the work calls for them.
You get one person accountable for the whole thing, a plan with dates, and the finished work. Not a strategy document about the work.
What you get
- A scope and a date before anything starts.
- One person accountable for the whole thing.
- The finished work, handed over with the files.
Who it’s for
- A founder who needs the deck, the site, or the launch done and has nobody to run it.
- A team with the idea and no time to ship it.
The whole list is under what we cover.
How it ends
- It ships.
- You own the files, the accounts, and the vendor relationships.
What we don’t do
We don’t do executive assistant work with a bigger title. We don’t make slides about the plan instead of the plan. We won’t write your customer-facing copy with an LLM, and we’ll tell you when you shouldn’t either.
How we work
We work with the CEO.
Every decision gets an owner and a date. Follow-ups inside 24 hours.
